Double Flared Jackfruit Wood Eyelets 6g-2" (Pair) 4mm-51mm

Starting at: $16.00

Organic Double Flared Jackfruit Wood Eyelets 6g (4mm) through 2" (51mm) (Pair)

These beautifully carved eyelets are made by skilled artisans. The wood has a beautiful yellow complexion with prominent striping. The jackfruit tree (Artocarpus heterophyllus) is a species of tree in the mulberry family (Moraceae), which is native to parts of Southern and Southeast Asia. The name "Jack fruit" is derived from the Portuguese Jaca, which in turn is derived from the Malayalam language term, Chakka. The heartwood of the jackfruit tree is used by Buddhist forest monks in Southeast Asia as a dye, giving the robes of the monks in those traditions their distinctive light brown color.

Golden yellow colored jackfruit timber with good grains is used for building furniture and house construction in India. The ornate wooden plank called Avani Palaka made of the wood of Jackfruit tree is used as the priest's seat during Hindu ceremonies in Kerala.

These items are hand carved, so sizes will vary by +/-.5mm. We do our best to match up the jewelry by size and coloration, so you get the best matching pairs we have.
